Son of James WESTERGAARD & Agnes Wilhelmine BUSCH
Occupation prior to enlistment Carpenter.
He enlisted in June, 1917, and trained at Blaekboy Hill Camp, and also at Broadmeadows
Camp, Melbourne. He sailed for France in October, 1917, and was in action for a time and was then sent tohospital suffering with trench feet. He again went into action and remained in action until the sighing or the Armistice. He returned to Australia in August, 1919.

He enlisted at Perth in 1916 and sailed for England on the 9th November, 1916. He went to France and was reported missing at Passchendaele on the 12th October, 1917. He leaves a wife and one child.  No trace of his remains appear to have been located.

He crossed to France on the 21st Feb., 1917, and was wounded at wschatte on the 7th August, 1918.  He left France for England on the 4th April, 1919, and sailed for Australia on the 21st July, 1919.
