Son of the late George TOUCHELL and Charlotte nee DENTON
He married Luce Rose on the 7th April, 1898, and they had two children prior to him enlisting. 
He was a Loco Engine Driver at the time.
Corporal Touchell volunteered for active service on 15th January, 1917, and embarked on the "Miltiades" January 29th, 1917. After a few weeks' training at Bordon Camp, he was despatched to France with the 5th A.B.G.R., and with his company put in some good work in the North of Belgium. 
He arrived back in Australia 9th December 1918 with Premature Senility and was discharged 1st March, 1919.
