His war medal was purchased in Kenya c1990.
It is the silver Victory Medal, with King George Vth head on the reverse.
Bought from an Arab in the Old Town of Mombasa, Kenya about 20 years ago.
When enquired about the medal it was supposed to have come from Malindi -  from a former servant of Capt Southon's, who had fallen on hard times.
So rather mysterious!  The medal has turned up a long way from home!
Do you known what happened to this soldier?
