Alfred was working as a mason when he enlisted in Adelaide on 23 February 1916.
Alfred embarked from Adelaide on board HMAT Aeneas on 11 April 1916 with the 2nd Reinforcements. 
He served on the Western Front where he was 3 times wounded, the 3rd wounding he received multiple shell wounds and was invalided to England on 30 October 1918. 
Alfred was repatriated to Australia on board HMAT Euripides arriving on 15 April 1919 and was discharged on 6 June 1919.

Bevys Richens was born 20th October 1886 at Hopgrass Farm, Hungerford, Berks, England.  His parents were Agnes Annie Richens (nee Beard) and Henry Slade Richens.  he was one of 13 children, his younger brother Percy Baron Richens was killed in action on submarine E34 19th July 1918.
Bevys served in the English army from 04 Jan 1904 to 15 Jan 1907, service number 21560, he was a driver in the Royal Horse Artillery (a Drayman in civian life).
He emigrated to Australia sometime around 1912, after moving from Canada.
He enlisted in the 3rd Australian Light Horse,15th reinforcement on 16th Mar 1916, service number 2142, acting Corporal, sailing on HMAT A68 "Anchises",  returning to Australia 13th July 1919.  He was married to Mary, and a first wife had died prior to his enlisting.  He died in 1968 and is buried at Dudley Park Cemetery.

He was educated at the Pulteney Street High School, Adelaide, and joined the Bank's staff at Port Adelaide on 3rd May 1913.  His subsequent transfers were to Moree, NSW in April 1914, and to Coonable as ledger-keeper in August 1915.
Harry Ring enlisted in the AIF 43rd Battalion on 16th December 1915 and left Australia in June 1916.  He was on active service in France until the end of the war, having been promoted to sergeant in January 1917, and he received his discharge in October 1919.
