Ross was 5 & half months old when his father died & 3 and half years old when he lost his mother.
He was brought up by his grandparents, William and Jane Young, with the help of his aunt, Florence Hewett.
Only 2 years younger than his uncle, Eddie Young, Three years older than Harold & 1 year younger than
Frank Hewett, he had plenty of company in a strong family group.
Such was the love of his 2 uncles, they each wished to name a son Ross.
The first son born was Eddies son , Ross. Andrew named his farm at Pinnaroo,
first occupied in the year Ross was killed, "Rosslyn " and this was also the name of the house in Pinnaroo.
