St. Quentin to Roisel. He was in charge of the forward evacuation of the wounded from the Regimental Aid Posts. He worked continuously for 48 hours and although he had to pass through heavily shelled areas, by maintaining excellent communication with the Regimental Medical Officers and by getting his ambulance cars right up to the Regimental Aid Posts, he was responsible for the successful and rapid evacuation of the wounded. By his cheerfulness, energy and disregard for personal safety in the performance of his duty, he set a splendid example to those working with him.'
