Postcard sent to my grandfather John Little of by his nephew William James (known as James) Little of Mount Gambier
(Service no. 716), dated 8/5/1916. James, who was raised by his grandfather, along with his mother's siblings, thought of John (Jack) as his brother.

The post card is of a group of soldiers, unfortunately not identified, but most likely of the 32nd battalion (which was formed mostly of men from the South East of SA)  to which James was attached. The card was sent from Wayville before the troops left South Australia.  Sadly we don't which one is James, and the only image we have for comparison is that published in the Advertiser (30 Dec 1916) following his death in France. However we were unable to draw any conclusions from that image.
