Private FRANK HAVEY, nephew of Mrs. M. Durkin, Smith-street, Southwark, died of wounds on October 20. He was a member of the 10th Battalion, and was present at the landing at Galipolli, going right through till the evacuation. Afterwards he went on to France, where he received his wounds. He was of a kind and gentle disposition, and beloved by all. His term of service to the Empire extended over three years . His brother died of meningitis in camp two years ago.

Was working as a Nurse at the Wakefield Street Private Hospital when she enlisted at Keswick on 7 June 1917.  
She embarked from Melbourne on board Royal Mail Ship Mooltan on 30 June 1917 and saw service in Egypt where she contracted malaria in June 1918 and was invalided to England.  
After recovery Janet was transferred to 14th Australian General Hospital in London until cessation of hostilities.  
Janet returned to Australia on board HMAT Karmal and arrived on 15 August 1919 and was discharged on 1 November 1919.
