He was married on the 17th November, 1914, to Florence Gipp, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Gipp, and had one child. He enlisted at Perth on the 8th March, 1915, and sailed for Egypt on the 9th June, 1915. He was wounded there and later crossed to France, where he was again wounded. He returned to Australia after three and a half years' service. Died 11 November 1947 in Perth, WA. |

CECIL FOULIS. News of the death of Pte. C. Foulis on August 20, at Choubra Hospital, Egypt, of pneumonia, came as a great shock, to his relatives and friends. Deceased was of exceptionally fine physique. The first news of his illness and death was received by his mother on September 4. He was the youngest son of the late Mr. George Foulis, grazier, of Horrock's Pass, near Wilmington, where he was born and resided until 1911, when he left to live with his brother at Oodnadatta. He enlisted from the latter place in December, 1914, with the Light Horse and later, was transferred to the 4th Light Horse Field Ambulance. He proceeded to Egypt on June 23.
